“Be generous!”, they say,
Donate the blood
That runs in vain
Through your veins today.

It won’t affect
Your health you see.
It may just save
The lives of 3.

A little prick,
A little pain,
Your loss is
Someone else’s gain.

You shy away
None the less.
Lies, excuses,
You try your best.

They plead and lure,
And coax and chide.
Give up all hope
And then decide,

To suck your blood
Another day.
Wearily, to you
They say,

“Can’t you pay heed
To society’s need?
A selfish one
You are indeed!”
