Understand, You Always Do!

26 03 2008

Speak your mind
Without a fear,
Say what no one else
Will hear.

We’ll stand by you
Through it all
Our weak hands
Will break your fall

Be the hero
In our time of need
Heal yourself
So we can bleed

We moved the walls-
You were unaware.
You understand,
Don’t you?

We live in castles
In the air.
You’ll live with us
Won’t you?

Ship is my Country…

25 03 2008

When I was one and twenty,
I finished B.Com
But even after that
I found no kaam.

Interview after interview
I was not clearing
So I enrolled myself
For marine engineering.

But it was vary hard,
Not bachho ka khel,
If I failed,
They wouldn’t let me sail.

So I studied and studied,
Night after night.
And then in exam,
I wrote everything right!

Now since I was topper
I got a good offer,
All gain, no lose
I joined luxury cruise

Now ship is country,
Sea is my home,
Duty is my life
But who is my wife??

Chasing Carrots

20 03 2008

Pack your lunches
And dig your heels in deep
It’s going to be a long night…

Sweet friend Denial,
You numbed and soothed,
Time after time.
We must part now.

The walls of apathy
Are crumbling now
And the pain pierces,
Right through
Our thick-skinned ignorance.

How I wish,
You could remain
How I wish,
I could turn away again.

Let’s waste time
Chasing the horizon
As it goes farther
The closer we go.

Keep running,
You’ll never get
A bite of that carrot,
Keep on running, jack-ass!

Late Night Cliché

27 02 2008

With tales of Summers,
Winters and Springs.
With borrowed metaphors,
Amongst other things.

With flowers and birds,
Of vibrant hues,
With memories sweet,
Of me and you.

With joy and sadness
Calmness and rage,
I unsuccessfully try
To fill up a page.

Inspiration, perhaps,will come another time.
Until then, kindly bear with this rhyme.

In Nothingness.

22 02 2008

“Trivialities interest me not,
The final prize I chase,
For when my share of pain exhausts,
True joy I will embrace.”

Seasons changed
And he remained.
Silently he bore his cross.

His quiet prayer
Kept him sane,
Smilingly he faced each loss.

And then one day
He realized,
Impervious he’d become,

The dark, long night
Had ended
But morning never would come.

No longer did he feel the pain,
Yet happiness he did not gain.

A perfect balance he had struck,
In nothingness, forever stuck.
